      the reason why he says later your gonna feel the glute fill up with blood is when you contract a muscle you are actually pushing blood out of the muscle. The lactic acid gives you a false feeling that the muscle is pumped. muscles get "pumped" after the set when blood can now flow very smoothly, because of the vasolidation, back into the muscle.
