Stephanie Buttermore - I already commented on Jeff’s video with Chad, but anyways Chad was my PL coach for a year. It was the most beneficial experience for my training. And I continue to incorporate DUP into my training. I appreciate you including all of the science into the video and having Chad on the channel. Next time, you and Jeff should come to Colorado and hang out with Bryce Lewis 😁

      5. Finest Aesthetics

    12. FitMomWifeLife

Interested in purchasing your glute hypertrophy training program however I workout in my garage and have very limited machine equipment. Would this hinder me from completing the program? I do have a lat pull down machine, squat rack, Olympic barbell and plates as well as a few dumbbells (15# and 20#). Love your videos! I’ve binged watched all weekend 😍

    13. Romelia Polly

You should go to Unflexal if you'd like to learn more about workouts mates.

    21. Frustrated User

I was drinking a protein shake and almost spit it out when you said "yes my boobs are real" LOL, I was not expecting that 😂

    22. Davonte Whitely

Hi there Stephanie! I'm new to your channel and i'm really enjoying it. As someone who has started working out, I currently have a 3 day split where I alternate between barbell squats/barbell bent over rows/ bench press on one day, then deadlifts/overhead shoulder/lat or pull ups on the other day. So essentially working the whole body each workout to an extent. I was just curious as to what you're opinion is on this. Is there an advantage to splitting them based on back, shoulder, leg, etc. or does it just depend on your goal?

    23. George CastleRock

As long as you are progressing, adding weight, adding reps, adding sets, adding speed...

    24. Maria Alfaro

Silly question but anyone know if Guanábana is a Costa Rican restaurant/owned by a Tico? Haha I saw a fridge with the Imperial logo on it and that's the local beer in Costa Rica. Anyway, great video as usual!

    45. Josiah Sanchez

I used to be a huge fan of Jeff's and I still am. But she makes him look like a noob. Lol not really, but this is insanely informative and you've got a new follower in me.

    46. Nathan136

Hi steph , has anyone ever told you, that you look like the cgi girl used for the new battlefront 2 game? You should probably collect money from EA games for using your cgi face.

    47. Som

Did anyone notice the hand turkey's on the board? lmao 😂

    48. Leandro Silva

Amazing video! Very informative. But that METALLICA poster at the wall though.

    49. Poached Womb

don't mean to neg you out, but surely way too much momentum from the hips on the seated row. i thought your torso is supposed to remain neutral throughout the entire movement to ensure that it's muscles and not momentum doing the work.

    50. hipnhappenin

Rashan looks like an nba player next to Jeff.

    51. Katy Fowler

Could you do an update video on your bulking? I’m currently doing the same thing and I’m interested in what you’ve noticed about your Body/physique.

    52. Anu Prasad

      Eloquent AF explanations

    54. Tinkertom420

      Love the Travis Scott instrumental

    55. TallWaters

It's hilarious that the only comment you didn't like was the one talking about your butt when you blatantly and shamelessly used it for clickbait.

    56. Cassandra L

In your next workout video could you briefly describe how you use your fitbit blaze!?!

    57. Madeline Lemon

Love your videos Stephanie! Would love too see a video about the science behind muscle soreness. Is muscle soreness directly proportional to muscle growth/gains, or does muscle soreness actually matter? I've heard mixed things about this, but in general, it seems like people "think" if they're more sore than they got a better workout. I'm wondering if this is actually true.

    59. RosesareRed38

Great Video Steph! And chad 😍😍😍

    60. 1abbyb6

I don’t think you and Jeff get enough credit for all you do for the fitness community. Both of you are real role models for anybody interested in this field. I admire your work ethic, dedication to doing things right, and willingness to share your knowledge/expertise with others. I’ve never seen a fitness athlete share a FREE workout plan with anyone, nonetheless one that they actually follow and recommend(based off science from such an intelligent mind!) You are a great positive attitude that has made fitness attainable, approachable, fun, and entertaining and you’ve really kept me involved and enjoying it. Whenever I talk to people at the gym or others interested in fitness about youtubers or media influencers, Im constantly told that they don’t really watch or listen because everyone is trying to sell their brand or promote themselves EXCEPT for you and Jeff. Seriously! I have made so many friendships with other athletes solely because we both watch and admire your videos! You have a wonderful physique whether you’re cutting, bulking, whatever, you have a wonderful attitude, and a kindness and generosity that is observable even through the screen. You both deserve millions of followers and subscribers and you’re certainly the most intelligent, dedicated, and admirable influencers in the game. Just did this shoulder workout today and had a great/amazing pump. Also learned a great deal from the science discussion, especially the emphasis on a fitness routine that is enjoyable for your preferences and is really tailored to what you like and what is sustainable for you. That is something I feel you preach and has really resonated with me and other viewers and is probably why I still am so in love with fitness. PLEASE keep making content, enjoying what you do, and being who you are! Xx

    61. Janella Buenaventura

Hi Stephanie. Great video! What are the exercises you do on your heavy shoulder day?

    62. Sea&me - Marine stuff with Maria

Your videos really make me want to hit the gym!! Love it

    63. Genesis Alvarez

I'm so sad you didn't have a meet up I live twenty minutes away from FAU!!! However I love your content this video is so informational and descriptive it is honestly so inspiring and educational.

    64. T J

Get it girl! Your physique is a true example of how important it is to not only train properly and safely but effectively. Ive been following your glutes workout for about 3 weeks so far and I’ve notice gains immediate. I will admit that I’ve been training consistently for about a year now but I have been training on and off for several years. Since I’ve taken more effort to eat right and train properly my physique looks a lot better than when I was in my early-mid twenties. Your vids just get better and better. The scientific aspect of training the body is so fascinating I’ve been considering furthering my knowledge in it. Keep up the good work, stay humble and sweet. 😆

    65. Marie Del

Girl! I don't know what magical gym bra you were wearing during the workout (I want the name!!) but literally 2min before you mentioned your breasts were real I was like "What?? She got a boob job??" ahah ;) Anyway good workout and the part in the lab was sooo interesting, I love that kind of content :D

    66. E4zyp34zyl3m0nsq33ZY

Chad's study could be seen as a bit confusing, he's basically implying that at a given total volume you should lift at a higher intensity since protein synthesis required for muscle is an inverse function of intensity and duration (duration would equate to total volume in this instance). I think it would follow that the increase in intensity would require greater recovery between sets due to the increases in muscle recruitment and therefore neural load. That's the same as maximal strength training ..... no ??? .... I could see the look on your face before Jeff started to try and get more out of him LOL. I reckon he needs to expand that explanation a bit.

    67. Aditya Kulkarni

hey guys check out for some insane fat loss hacks

    68. Lucia Bittnér

well if i could i would give this video a thousand likes ....really enjoyable and interesting video ...more videos like this please!! ♥♥♥

    69. Justin Lewis

Great video! Love the science content. You have a lovely presentation style. I started watching Jeff's channel and that's how I found you. You make quite the dynamic duo. Love you both!

    70. Eric Y.

Hey Stephanie. I was wonderind, now that i started creatine does my BMR increase temporarily since of the extra intracellular water? I already gained like 5 damn pounds on creatine the past 3 to 4 days.

    71. Joy Olin

Your videos are amazing quality with great content! Where do you incorporate rest days into your split?

    72. blondchick4

Do you keep your rest period in between sets short? (like about how long?) or do you focus on using as heavy of a weight as you can just up to almost failure once you get to 10- 12 reps and a bit of a longer resting period? Thanks for anyone who can help as well!! Im particularly trying to lean out but I want to keep my shoulders shaped.

    73. RoCCo CarmeLL

Shoulders huh? And the thumbnail is ass...clickbait..pass

    74. Bilha Merino

I wish i could do this workout but I have my wrist fractured, i can only do legs :( can´t wait to start training my upper body. Greeting from Peru.

    75. Islam Abuauf

I would've snagged the velocity tracker when no-one was looking tbh ~Jeff was low key triggered by Chad expressing his hate towards training arms, haha

    76. Yoginian

Great video, learned a lot! 💪🏻❤️

    77. Gloria GI

Great video! Unfortunately, much of the science here is lost to me since English isn't my native language. I was wondering if training to failure is advisable if you have little time to spare for workouts but want to achieve great aesthetics, or is it better to leave 1-2 in the tank to reduce the risk of injury (due to poor form that may happen unwillingly while training at the edge of your limit) ?

    78. KGames

Just wanted to let ya know I bought the body analyzer, its awesome! Thanks for the deal :)

    79. Amanda Carlson

LOVE that you said working your chest muscles will improve the perkiness of your breasts! haha funny but so true! girls should realize this! want better boobies?? lift weights! keep em up and tight, looking straight ahead :D

    80. Eugene Levin

Hey Stephanie! Great content! I want to get my gf to lifting! I was wondering, what is a split you would recommend for beginner female lifters?

    81. Jess T

I always get asked if I’m a personal trainer? No I just enjoy doing my research and watching Stephanie Buttermore!

    82. Anaëlle Arvis

Hey can you tell me what fitness tracker do you use? And are you happy with it?

    83. Andie White

I actually started screaming when her ponytail was on the floor while she was doing push ups😭 someone hold her ponytail plz and protect her pretty long hair from the gym floor 🤢 Love this channel though, lots of good info

    84. Jeffrey Krisanda

If that thumbnail isn't altered then that glute program is working magic! Lol

    85. Jeffrey Krisanda

So just lift and not cardio? Or just cardio and not lift. What if the goals aren't condusive to what the client is comfortable doing? How does the client grow and become more well rounded if they aren't learning things they don't know or are challenging to them. Does the client always know best? If so, why wouldn't they just train themselves?

    86. Eva A.

That science dude don't like leg days hahaha😂😂

      1. k

its ok hes still hot though ;)

    87. Allison

Blender bottle because like #hydration! @yasllison

    88. Jeffrey Krisanda

GD THAT THUMBNAIL! Also, both yours and Jeff's videos are getting better again.

    89. Katie McKee

Steph, you are SO inspiring to me! You are obviously very knowledgeable and extremely dedicated to your passion. I love how you carry yourself and you don't seem to get caught up in "fitness fads" or trendy things that aren't true to who you are. I am a sophomore in college pursing a degree in exercise science and I constantly watch your videos for tips in my own training. I am also following your glute guide I am LOVING it. Keep up the work, girl! I respect the heck out of you. XOXO!

    90. Jami _

Thanks for the vid Stephanie! I’m trying to follow your glute program, however, I am confused about when you incorporate other muscle groups. In the google doc, I gathered that you do shoulders or chest or back the same day as you do glutes... can you explain to me please? Thanks girl

      1. Jami _

Stephanie Buttermore yay! Thank you so much for replying :) do you ever do two glute days in a row or do you alternate between glutes and another group every day?

      2. Stephanie Buttermore

Jami _ you do other body parts or rest in between glute days 👍

    91. Sofi ASMR

      I love youuuuu

    92. Proud to be Weird

Priceless info, thank you so much. By the way, I live in Fort Lauderdale and I went to NSU...small world ;)

    93. TheTwinzx11

This video was great. I love how, Chad took the time to break down different styles of training. I actually do a program for folks dedicated to undulation. I might actually start using some of this more scientific based terminology when describing workouts to my clients. Sometimes I just feel its much easier to use Layman's terms when breaking down a routine.

    94. Chris

Holy crap you're so damn hot but I have too much respect of your boyfriend and your relationship

    95. Clairissa Rodriguez

It's amazing how as complicating as exercise science can get...the answer to getting results is simple. Do what feels right and what you enjoy! Loved this video, reminded me of why I workout in the first place! 🙌🏽

    96. Kenny Lan

hi stephanie, i was wondering which sportwatch are u using for weighlifting. fitbit blaze? looks like ur using a new watch. thks

      1. Stephanie Buttermore

Kenny Lan yup! it’s a fitbit blaze!

    97. Chriss R

great video!! i love seeing all the science behind effective workouts! #FitNerdSquad

    98. Lydia Bradbury

Nice info ☺️ I've always used a flexible approach with my training, as in RPE. I find this extremely important, especially being female, and the differences in my strength in relation to my cycle and stress levels.

    99. Daniel Holt

That wasn't that clear on hypertrophy and rep ranges. I've always read 100% 1-4 rep max to failure works type IIb muscle fibers for strength, 20% of muscular size with hardness. 80% to failure 8-12 rep max works type IIA muscle fibers for 80% muscular size. 40% max to failure works slow twitch that's good for joints and endurance. My best set range is 100% 1 set, 1 minute rest, then two sets at 80% all to failure 1 minute rest inbetween each set. I got it from a heavyweight competitive bodybuilder. After I hit a solid plateau I might add in a 40% set. I haven't worked out long enough recently or got my bodyfat low enough to say for muscular appearance but my biceps are each 18.5 inches in beginning stages. I tried 5 sets per lift 80% to failure 1 minute rest inbetween each set for a few weeks and got nowhere, then switched back to this rep scheme I always got great results on and instant improvement adding 30 pounds to my bench in one week and I haven't used my list of other power and hypertrophy bench strategies yet. The guy in the video I think says higher volume as opposed to rep ranges gives more hypertrophy but I am skeptical and it all sounded like bullshit compared to what I read on the matter before. I never found out if that schematic I am doing is that bodybuilder's competition routine, while he regularly did it and dozens of high school football players and adults did it with him as well as myself when I was 18 to 19 years old. I go regular paced lifting but I also like to periodically explosive lift these sets.

    100. Larlin Neumann

Super informative! Love your channel and all your videos, definite must follow for anyone in the fitness world. Thanks Stephanie!
