      Hi there Stephanie! I'm new to your channel and i'm really enjoying it. As someone who has started working out, I currently have a 3 day split where I alternate between barbell squats/barbell bent over rows/ bench press on one day, then deadlifts/overhead shoulder/lat or pull ups on the other day. So essentially working the whole body each workout to an extent. I was just curious as to what you're opinion is on this. Is there an advantage to splitting them based on back, shoulder, leg, etc. or does it just depend on your goal?

      don't mean to neg you out, but surely way too much momentum from the hips on the seated row. i thought your torso is supposed to remain neutral throughout the entire movement to ensure that it's muscles and not momentum doing the work.

Is muscle soreness directly proportional to muscle growth/gains, or does muscle soreness actually matter? I've heard mixed things about this, but in general, it seems like people "think" if they're more sore than they got a better workout. I'm wondering if this is actually true.

      I don’t think you and Jeff get enough credit for all you do for the fitness community. Both of you are real role models for anybody interested in this field. I admire your work ethic, dedication to doing things right, and willingness to share your knowledge/expertise with others. I’ve never seen a fitness athlete share a FREE workout plan with anyone, nonetheless one that they actually follow and recommend(based off science from such an intelligent mind!) You are a great positive attitude that has made fitness attainable, approachable, fun, and entertaining and you’ve really kept me involved and enjoying it. Whenever I talk to people at the gym or others interested in fitness about youtubers or media influencers, Im constantly told that they don’t really watch or listen because everyone is trying to sell their brand or promote themselves EXCEPT for you and Jeff. Seriously! I have made so many friendships with other athletes solely because we both watch and admire your videos! You have a wonderful physique whether you’re cutting, bulking, whatever, you have a wonderful attitude, and a kindness and generosity that is observable even through the screen. You both deserve millions of followers and subscribers and you’re certainly the most intelligent, dedicated, and admirable influencers in the game. Just did this shoulder workout today and had a great/amazing pump. Also learned a great deal from the science discussion, especially the emphasis on a fitness routine that is enjoyable for your preferences and is really tailored to what you like and what is sustainable for you. That is something I feel you preach and has really resonated with me and other viewers and is probably why I still am so in love with fitness. Ive been following your glutes workout for about 3 weeks so far and I’ve notice gains immediate. I will admit that I’ve been training consistently for about a year now but I have been training on and off for several years. Since I’ve taken more effort to eat right and train properly my physique looks a lot better than when I was in my early-mid twenties. Your vids just get better and better. The scientific aspect of training the body is so fascinating I’ve been considering furthering my knowledge in it. Keep up the good work, stay humble and sweet. 😆

      Chad's study could be seen as a bit confusing, he's basically implying that at a given total volume you should lift at a higher intensity since protein synthesis required for muscle is an inverse function of intensity and duration (duration would equate to total volume in this instance). I think it would follow that the increase in intensity would require greater recovery between sets due to the increases in muscle recruitment and therefore neural load. That's the same as maximal strength training ..... no ??? .... I could see the look on your face before Jeff started to try and get more out of him LOL. I reckon he needs to expand that explanation a bit.

      Do you keep your rest period in between sets short? (like about how long?) or do you focus on using as heavy of a weight as you can just up to almost failure once you get to 10- 12 reps and a bit of a longer resting period?       Great video! Unfortunately, much of the science here is lost to me since English isn't my native language. I was wondering if training to failure is advisable if you have little time to spare for workouts but want to achieve great aesthetics, or is it better to leave 1-2 in the tank to reduce the risk of injury (due to poor form that may happen unwillingly while training at the edge of your limit) ?

      So just lift and not cardio? Or just cardio and not lift. What if the goals aren't condusive to what the client is comfortable doing? How does the client grow and become more well rounded if they aren't learning things they don't know or are challenging to them. Does the client always know best? If so, why wouldn't they just train themselves?

      This video was great. I love how, Chad took the time to break down different styles of training. I actually do a program for folks dedicated to undulation. I might actually start using some of this more scientific based terminology when describing workouts to my clients. Sometimes I just feel its much easier to use Layman's terms when breaking down a routine.

      Nice info ☺️ I've always used a flexible approach with my training, as in RPE. I find this extremely important, especially being female, and the differences in my strength in relation to my cycle and stress levels.

      That wasn't that clear on hypertrophy and rep ranges. I've always read 100% 1-4 rep max to failure works type IIb muscle fibers for strength, 20% of muscular size with hardness. 80% to failure 8-12 rep max works type IIA muscle fibers for 80% muscular size. 40% max to failure works slow twitch that's good for joints and endurance. My best set range is 100% 1 set, 1 minute rest, then two sets at 80% all to failure 1 minute rest inbetween each set. I got it from a heavyweight competitive bodybuilder. After I hit a solid plateau I might add in a 40% set. I haven't worked out long enough recently or got my bodyfat low enough to say for muscular appearance but my biceps are each 18.5 inches in beginning stages. I tried 5 sets per lift 80% to failure 1 minute rest inbetween each set for a few weeks and got nowhere, then switched back to this rep scheme I always got great results on and instant improvement adding 30 pounds to my bench in one week and I haven't used my list of other power and hypertrophy bench strategies yet. The guy in the video I think says higher volume as opposed to rep ranges gives more hypertrophy but I am skeptical and it all sounded like bullshit compared to what I read on the matter before. I never found out if that schematic I am doing is that bodybuilder's competition routine, while he regularly did it and dozens of high school football players and adults did it with him as well as myself when I was 18 to 19 years old. I go regular paced lifting but I also like to periodically explosive lift these sets.
